My life in flowers
I am very lucky to be based here in the Dedham Vale, where I grew up with a mother and Grandmother who both inspired me to work with flowers.
My career began in London when I opened my own flower stall near our first home in vibrant Portobello Road. After this came ten years back in Dedham where my business flourished. It was here that I got to know – and to work with – many of our fantastic local venues.
In 2005 our family moved to historic Savannah Georgia – possibly the USA’s most romantic location for destination weddings. I quickly became very busy – not just with weddings, but with charity balls, special occasions, and – of course – debutante parties. The amazing events team at SCAD – the Savannah College of Art and Design – also kept me very busy. Working in America gave my work a contemporary edge.
In 2013 we moved back to East Bergholt, just two miles from Dedham. Here I find inspiration every day, thanks to the beauty of the surrounding countryside – and to my customers, new and established.
I like to work one-to-one with all my clients from the very first meeting. Sourcing the freshest ingredients – however unusual – is very important to me
My favourite moment comes when all the hard work is done, the venue displays are complete, the buttonholes and corsages are secured, the bridesmaids are gathered, and I get to hand the bouquet to my bride!
