From 1827, Constable began working on a project that would occupy his attention until his death, the publication of a number of prints based on his paintings and commissioned engraver and skilled draughtsman David Lucas.
This piece became the Frontispiece to Constable’s English Landscape, Mezzotint on wove paper held at the Tate (photo below)
